Terms of Service
Ming · Effective date: 22 June 2026
1. About Ming
Ming is a personal finance aggregation application that connects to your Nigerian bank accounts, retrieves your account balances and transaction history, and presents them in a unified view with insights and analytics.
Ming connects to your bank directly from your device. The Ming app signs in to your bank from your phone and retrieves your data there; your online banking credentials are kept on your device and are never sent to or stored on Ming's servers (see section 4.3).
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Ming application and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating a Ming account, you agree to these Terms.
2. Eligibility
To use Ming you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be a resident of Nigeria
- Have a valid bank account with at least one of the supported banks
- Provide accurate registration information
By using Ming, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.
3. Supported banks
Ming currently supports the following banks:
- Access Bank
- First Bank of Nigeria
- Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank)
- Fidelity Bank
- Zenith Bank
- Wema Bank / ALAT
Support for additional banks may be added over time. We may also discontinue support for a bank if the bank changes its platform in a way that prevents continued integration.
4. Your account
4.1 Registration
You must provide your full name, email address, and a password to create an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of this information.
4.2 Credentials
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Ming password, PIN, and any device on which Ming is installed. Do not share your Ming credentials with anyone.
4.3 Bank credentials
To connect a bank account, you will provide your online banking username and password. The Ming app uses these credentials on your device to sign in to your bank directly and retrieve your account information. You confirm that you are the account holder and are authorised to grant this access.
You can revoke this access at any time by disconnecting the bank from within the app, which permanently deletes the stored credentials from your device.
4.4 Account security
You agree to notify us immediately at support@getming.com.ng if you become aware of any unauthorised access to your Ming account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account credentials.
5. Use of the service
5.1 Permitted use
You may use Ming solely for your own personal, non-commercial financial management.
5.2 Prohibited conduct
You must not:
- Use Ming for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable Nigerian law or regulation
- Attempt to access any other user's account or data
- Provide false or misleading information when registering or connecting bank accounts
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the Service
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of Ming
- Use Ming to commit fraud or impersonate any person or entity
- Interfere with or disrupt the security, integrity, or availability of Ming's infrastructure
6. Data and privacy
Your use of Ming is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. The Privacy Policy explains what personal and financial data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023.
7. Data accuracy
Ming retrieves and displays data directly from your bank. We do not modify, adjust, or interpret the figures provided by your bank. Ming makes no representation that the data displayed is complete, accurate, or up to date at all times.
Syncing happens on your device when you sign in to Ming and whenever you manually refresh or re-sync a connected bank. Ming does not sync your accounts in the background, so the balances and transactions shown reflect your most recent successful sync and may not match your real-time account position. Do not rely on Ming as the sole source of truth for financial decisions. Always verify critical financial information directly with your bank.
8. No financial advice
Nothing in Ming — including insights, spending summaries, net worth calculations, subscription detection, or any other generated content — constitutes financial advice, investment advice, or any other professional advice. This information is provided for informational and organisational purposes only.
You should consult a qualified financial adviser before making any financial decision.
9. Service availability
We aim to keep Ming available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. The Service may be unavailable due to maintenance, bank platform changes, infrastructure issues, or events outside our control.
We are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by temporary unavailability of the Service.
10. Intellectual property
All content, software, trademarks, and other materials in the Ming application are the property of Ming or our licensors. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for personal purposes in accordance with these Terms. You acquire no ownership rights in the Service or any of its content.
11. Termination
11.1 By you
You may stop using Ming at any time and delete your account via Settings → Delete account. Deletion is subject to a 30-day grace period as described in the Privacy Policy.
11.2 By us
We may suspend or terminate your access to Ming if:
- You breach these Terms
- We are required to do so by law or court order
- Your account shows signs of fraudulent or abusive activity
- We discontinue the Service
Where possible, we will give you reasonable notice before terminating your account, except where immediate termination is necessary to protect the security of the Service or other users.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law:
- Ming is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- We do not warrant that Ming is fit for any particular purpose or that use of the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, or error-free.
- Ming is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of income, or financial loss resulting from reliance on information displayed in the app.
- Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of Ming shall not exceed the amount you paid to us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable Nigerian law.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Ming harmless from any claims, losses, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your use of the Service.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice in the app at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of Ming after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you may delete your account before they take effect.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of Ming shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria.
